Super Comic City - Day 2
Because of coherency issues, I will let a picture sum up most of my day:

But that's not all my day, and I can't help babbling. (Especially not since I haven't written about the pic yet!)

First of all - my loot! ^_^

1. It's a tiny GuardPoint!Chopper! Which is soft and round and cuddly! I saw it at Meikido, and resistance was futile.

2. Stack of Saiyuki doujinshi - ten of them! All new and pretty from the circles, and ten really isn't very much at all. ^_^ One of them is a report on the Saiyuki Stage Play I went to see with kagenami a few months ago.

3. Pretty, pretty freebies/omake, from several different circles - all wonderfully generous people. ♥

4. Other doujinshi! Also ten of them! (See, I was good today.) Except for the new bunch of Wild Adapter (I swear I've bought half of the doujinshi I've ever seen for the series) I also got a tiny Ouran thing, an adorable Trigun A5-doujinshi featuring tiny Vash, tiny Knives and Rem, an amazing Hellsing book that was too beautiful and interesting to pass on, and a GetBackers doujinshi that makes me flail and make sounds that can only be transliterated as keyboard mashing. ^^;; It's really - perfect. ♥

5. More freebies! In this case, two uchiwa (the fans with handles) with fantastic Saiyuki chibi art.

6. 澄み渡る空、その向こうに僕が見たもの (sumiwataru sora, sono mukou ni boku ga mita mono). Again, at a loss for words for how to do a book justice... This is a collection of doujinshi stories by Honey (Youe Kagurai). My first reaction upon seeing this book in Ikebukuro last week, when I didn't know anything about it, was something along the lines of starting the thought "WOW, this month's ZeroSum sure looks interesting!". I realized everything that was wrong with that before I could even finish the thought, but - that's how much her art follows Minekura's style. (And what kind of size book we're talking about here.) Then kagenami recommended two of her doujinshi we came across in the used doujinshi store yesterday, and again - the covers were enough to make me buy them without hesitation. They even made me curious enough to read the books on the train back home, and they were just - perfect. And when I say "perfect" I mean that this book was a bit over 4000 yen, and I couldn't wait to buy it today. It got to me, in a way that very few things outside of the actual Minekura story has.

...and look at me go on and on about my stuff without saying anything about my day!

Again - fantastic day. Was away from home a total of 18 hours more or less exactly, and most of that was spent walking or standing, so - tired. But good tired. Had tons of fun, and was sad to see this weekend come to an end. But - time very well spent, money very well spent and there will be more days like this. Because the alternative is unthinkable.

Through kagenami I was introduced to a lot of Saiyuki doujinshika - only very briefly, but all of them were so sweet and friendly and there were lots of "ooh"s and "aah"s at my being from Sweden, and being able to utter words in Japanese. So they were exclaiming over the exotic fellow fan, and I was exclaiming happily over the beautiful art and lovely books I saw, and it was lots of fun, and I kept getting freebies! Even before I made a move to buy anything! ♥ Squeed in as dignified a manner as I could manage with incredibly pretty art pretty much shoved at me by people I'd never met before.

And that was really less than half the day, but - no can write, brain no work no more. Um. Was gonna write replies to comment-thingies, but no. Sorry. Later! ^^;;

I probably have a doujinshi story, if not an individual doujinshi, for every day for the rest of the year - at least if you count the stuff in anthologies I've got back home.

Ahh! Look at Chopper, omg! Hehehe, so cute! ^_^

Uchiwa! So that's what they're called. ^^; Oh, I have a lot to learn... XD And I'm so jealous of all that doujinshi, I can certainly understand you being happy now! It sounds like a wonderful day, yay for freebies! ^^

*note to self: READ GETBACKERS!* (Still haven't! I can't believe myself!)

I LOSE at commenting. Anyway.

YES! Chopper!! I couldn't resist! *snuggles* He's tiny and round and soft. ♥

Uchiwa - a word you'll learn quickly if you're in Japan in the summer. I had no idea what they were called until they were suddenly everywhere, and they're oh-so-useful! They're even more efficient than fans (at least the cloth fans I've tried), and less tiring to use for extended periods of time - which you do. They also give them out free with ads on them, so they really are everywhere.

I know it's been a week, but - yes! Wonderful, wonderful day. Still makes me happy that there can be days like that. ♥

Good note. You should!

Whee~ I wanna hug him XD give him a big hug from me! ♥

I bet. :O I could've used one of those this summer, it hasn't been Japan-hot I guess, lol, but hot enough... -_-" I even made my own little uchiwa out of paper XD it was quite good though! :D
